about the bias for competitive (and not collaborative) work, Deming called it &quot;the forces of destruction&quot;. 

According to him, we destroy, through the standard teaching and reward system, the power of intrinsic motivation, cooperation and curiosity that people are born with.

It is kinda fun (not to say sad) that during school and university everyone is taught how not to collaborate (with individual exams, the prohibition of knowledge sharing, etc..), and then when they reach their adult life, the most valued skill is capacity to work in groups...</description>
